IMPLICATIONS FOR THE FIXED INCOME MARKET¬ – INVESTMENT STRATEGIES IN A NEW INTEREST RATE ENVIRONMENT
With the open market committee taking place in May, the Federal Reserve System is strongly signaling the increase of interest rates. With implications for the fixed income market unraveling, it leads many investors to think there will be an amplified level of volatility in the market. In this panel discussion, we will address how investors should approach riskier assets as compared to the past and how they are reacting to changes with regard to specific investment strategies.

Mark Roberts, CFA, serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Biltmore Family Office. Mark was the Director of Global Equities and Hedged Strategies for the North Carolina Retirement Systems where he and his team were responsible for the $33 billion Global Equity and Hedge Fund portfolios. Additionally, he has served as Chief Investment Officer for families and provided consulting services for the North Carolina State University endowment. Mark also serves as a Managing Director for Ironsides Asset Advisors and the Tuscarora Company. He is a board member on the NC State Investment Fund and a member of the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts. He received his Master of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University.
